The event „FTC FOR A DAY” organized by Team B-Robo was a valuable opportunity for students from 5th to 9th grade to experience life in an FTC robotics team. Held at the County Library located at 2 Iuliu Manu Street, on March 9, 2024, between 09:30 and 17:00, the participants registered by filling out a form available on the team’s Instagram account. Throughout the activity, the children experienced building a robot, being guided through each stage of its creation.
They started by assembling a chassis and then moved on to programming the robot, learning introductory concepts about autonomy and teleop. Team members served as mentors for the participating teams, and the children also went through the judging process, having to obtain the necessary resources by simulating sponsorship requests. Additionally, there were 14 matches on a customized field. In the end, the classic FTC awards were given out. The team emphasized the artistry of mechanics and programming in the STEM field, and the children were fascinated by these aspects.
They also experienced participating in an adrenaline-filled competition, with the team explaining the rules of the game for the season, as well as involvement in non-technical aspects such as event planning.
