1.What are the main strengths of your team and how have you used them to ensure success?
The main strengths of our team consist of our great time management and the fact that even if we are a small team in terms of members we all work together at our fullest, putting in maximum time to fulfil our goals. Because we managed to do so much stuff in such little time we could’ve dreamed and worked for the inspire award. Also our robot philosophy is special because we started prototyping before the season’s start of our famous chassis and as it was the most challenging part of the robot we managed to overcome the problems quickly and invest time in other systems.
2.How have you incorporated feedback and observations from previous matches to improve your performance in future matches?
We usually modify everything according to what the drivers say. A good example is how robots have changed to the comp. one. It lost inconsistencies and lack of reliability because we risked to rebuild the intake and outtake in just 2 weeks, all done by the drivers feedback of what they needed in matches to become more competitive.
3. How did you manage pressure and stress during crucial matches, and what strategies did you employ to maintain calmness and focus?
Usually our leader and mentors gather us all and have a speech about what s happening..then we discuss what’s wrong from everybody’s side, and we solve those problems, so that we are comfortable to work to solve the general issue or problem we are having. When u know u can trust your teammates you become more calculated and calm enough to think all about solutions.
4. What non-technical aspects do you believe were most important in helping your team shine?
Well the most important non technical advice i can give to every team cause it was the most important to us would be to start making events only robot related and to start to think about what the community needs. Usually this is how most good events are made. If you can include your robot in it and it helps some kids or a school or a group of people is a good non technical idea.
5. What advice do you have for other teams in the FTC competition?
Well, work hard! That’s the advice. Work hard for your dreams, if you love this invest all your free time in it because it’s worth it. We usually tell people to seek help from big teams if there are money problems, to seek mentoring if it’s needed and to be open to changes. Also we usually suggest them to join the international ftc discord cause there are a ton of resources and people that can help there.
6. What were the most effective promotion strategies you used and what results did you achieve?
Our promotion campaigns usually work hand in hand with local newspapers cause in our community it’s the best way for people to find out about events. Now it depends on what it’s the most viewed way of communication in everybody’s community. Our results were so good that we had thousands of people talking about us or contacting us and the impact was so good that people could recognise us on the streets.
7. How did you promote diversity and inclusion in the recruitment process and within your team?
This is quite a challenge cause we only had one girl in the team but she could ignite the most beautiful thing in terms of inclusiveness as her example inspires a lot of girls to join the team. Apart from that we are just open minded and supportive for anybody not depending on background or anything to join learn and do robotics.
