On 31 october we celebrate the International Day of The Black Sea!

This day is dedicated to the protection of one of the most valuable marine ecosystems. Moreover, it is an important moment to raise awareness of the impact we have on the marine environment and to take action for its conservation.

We, Byteforce 19234, have decided to celebrate this day by adopting a dolphin through the „Adopt a Dolphin” program initiated by the NGO Mare Nostrum. We named him Perseus, after our robot.

This symbolic gesture reflects not only our passion for technology, but also our desire to contribute to the protection of the Black Sea ecosystem. Alongside NGO Mare Nostrum, we are involved in the protection of dolphins, Perseus becoming the ambassador of our efforts.

All funds raised will help implement solutions for dolphin protection, such as installing acoustic devices to keep dolphins away from fishing nets, monitoring dolphins and bycatch, and photo-identifying dolphins to study their behavior and habitats.

We invite all members of the FTC community and robotics enthusiasts to be part of this initiative and take a concrete step towards protecting marine biodiversity and the dolphins of The Black Sea.
