FIRST Week: A Celebration of FIRST Values

Between February 23rd and 27th, the teams infO(1)Robotics and Ro2D2 will organize FIRST Week, a dynamic initiative designed to celebrate the core values of the FIRST community through five consecutive days of meaningful events. Each day will be dedicated to a different value, transforming the week into a complete experience of innovation, connection, impact, discovery, and inclusion.

The week will begin on Monday, February 23rd, under the theme FIRST to INNOVATE, hosted at Palatul Culturii. Participants will explore technology through LEGO robotics workshops, 3D printing workshops, demonstration matches, and immersive VR experiences. The event will create an interactive environment where students can directly engage with cutting-edge technology and better understand the creative process behind robotics.

On Tuesday, February 24th, FIRST to have FUN will bring teams together through Synergy Links, a concept inspired by the Romanian celebration of Dragobete. The activity will feature blind talks between FTC teams, encouraging authentic conversations and meaningful connections. The event will highlight that FIRST is not only about building robots, but also about building relationships based on collaboration and mutual respect.

Wednesday, February 25th, will be dedicated to FIRST to IMPACT. In collaboration with AES DEBATE, a debate match will be organized to promote critical thinking, public speaking, and constructive dialogue. The event will demonstrate that impact can be created not only through technology, but also through ideas, arguments, and the courage to express them.

On Thursday, February 26th, FIRST to DISCOVER will center around a webinar featuring ROSPIN as the keynote speaker. Participants will gain valuable insights into innovation, space initiatives, and future technological opportunities, broadening their perspective beyond robotics competitions and inspiring them to pursue ambitious goals in STEM fields.

The week will conclude on Friday, February 27th, with FIRST to INCLUDE, a book donation campaign aimed at supporting children’s homes. By collecting and donating books, participants will reinforce the importance of education, empathy, and equal access to knowledge, proving that inclusion remains one of the strongest pillars of the FIRST spirit.

FIRST Week will be more than a sequence of events; it will be a statement of values. Through creativity, collaboration, and community engagement, infO(1)Robotics and Ro2D2 will demonstrate that FIRST is not just about robotics, but about shaping responsible, innovative, and compassionate leaders for the future.
